Important Dates

 MONDAY, JULY 28

        1:00 to 5:30 p.m. Enter and judge 4-H/FFA home economics and science, arts and mechanics (SAM) exhibits. State Fair judging following.

 MONDAY, AUGUST 25

        Entries must be in for all open class livestock by 6 p.m. of this date. This includes 4-H and FFA club members planning to show in the open class. Secretary’s office on fairgrounds open 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

 TUESDAY, AUGUST 26

        Secretary’s office on fairgrounds open 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27

        All 4-H and FFA home economics and science, arts, and mechanics (SAM) must be checked in the 4-H exhibits building between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.

 Fair Schedule of Events

 THURSDAY, AUGUST 28

FREE ADMITTANCE TO THE FAIR GATES TODAY!

        8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Fairgrounds Secretary’s office open.

        4-H and FFA horse, rabbit and poultry exhibits may check in, and beef and swine weighed-in between 12 noon and 6 p.m. Dairy cattle and goats may check in, and market goat and sheep exhibits weighed-in between 3 and 5 p.m.

        All livestock must be checked in by 5 p.m. due to livestock shows starting at 6 p.m. Livestock Judging Contest will be 6 p.m. Announcement of award winners following contest.

        6:00 p.m. 4-H and FFA dog show followed by Open Class

        6:00 p.m. Blues Amusement “Buck Night”. Rides for $1.00.

        7:00 p.m. Clover Kids “Show of Show” at horse arena

        7:00 p.m. Kristi Vance Studio entertainment

        8:00 p.m. Bill Riley Talent Show sponsored by Guthrie Center Communications and Panora Telecommunications

 FRIDAY, AUGUST 29

        *Champion Pictures will be taken following each show.

        7:30 a.m. 4-H and FFA Horse show followed by Open Class

        8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Fairgrounds Secretary’s office open

        10:00 a.m. 4-H and FFA Poultry show followed by Open Class

        12 Noon 4-H Exhibits Building opens

        12 Noon Son-o-ray swine production pigs followed by beef

        12 Noon Horse Shoe pits open

        2:00 p.m. 4-H and FFA Dairy and Goat show followed by Open Class

        4:30 p.m. 4-H Pet Show animals arrive at Large Show Ring

        5:00 p.m. 4-H Pet Show followed by Open Class

        5:00 – 10:00 p.m. Blues Amusements Wristband Rides

        6:00 p.m. Entries must be in for Art and Agriculture Department at Secretary’s Office

        6:30 p.m. Mutton Busting. Sign up at Secretary’s Office before 6:30 p.m.

        7:30 p.m. Grand River Bullarama, IRCA Sanctioned. Sponsored by Guthrie County Banks and Guthrie County Fairboard

 SATURDAY, AUGUST 30

        *Champion Pictures will be taken following each show.

        Helicopter Rides available on the fairgrounds

        7:00  a.m.4-H and FFA Rabbit show followed by Open Class

        7:00 a.m. Registration for “Heat the Streets” 5K Run/Walk, Guthrie County Hospital Fitness Center. Proceeds benefit Fitness Center and Guthrie County Fair. Race starts at 7:30 a.m.

        8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Fairgrounds Secretary’s office open.

        10:00 a.m. Parade. Theme: "Generations of Fairgoers-Celebrating 150 Years!"

        11:30 a.m. 4-H and FFA Sheep show followed by Open Class

        12:00  Noon Mud Volleyball sign up. Competition starts at 1:00 p.m.

        12:00 Noon – 10:00 p.m. Blues Amusements Wristband Rides

        12:00 Noon Horse Shoe pits open

        1:00 p.m. Grand River Rodeo, IRCA Sanctioned, sponsored by Guthrie County Banks and Guthrie County Fair Board

        1:00 p.m. Antique Truck and Tractor Show with Oat Threshing and Plowing

        1:00 and 4:00 p.m. The Horse Whisperer, Craig Cameron. Location to be announced.

        1:30 p.m. Children’s Pedal Pull, Grand Concourse

        3:00 p.m. 4-H and FFA Swine show

        6:30 p.m. Guthrie County Saddle Club Fun Show at horse arena

        8:00 p.m. Grand Stand Entertainment: Rock and Roll Reunion Bands

 
SUNDAY, AUGUST 31

        7:00 a.m. Ecumenical Church Services in Grandstand followed by Dedication of New Grandstand

        10:00 a.m. 4-H and FFA Jr Cattle Feeder Pens followed 4-H and FFA Beef show, Open show following

        11:00 a.m. Mud Bogs in front of grandstand

        11:30 a.m. Announcement of J.R. Hodges Award

        11:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Fairgrounds Secretary’s office open.

        12:00 Noon – 10:00 p.m. Blues Amusements Wristband Rides

        1:00 p.m. Antique Tractor show with oat threshing and plowing

 MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

        8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Fairgrounds Secretary’s office open.

        9:00 a.m. 4-H and FFA Livestock sale in show ring (Laughery & Sons Sale Barn and Guthrie County Auctioneers Cooperating)

        10:00 a.m. Horse Shoe pits open

        11:00 a.m. Mud Bogs in front of grandstand

        12:00 Noon – 6:00 p.m. Blues Amusements Wristband Rides

        1:00 – 3:00 p.m. 4-H home economics, science, arts and mechanics exhibits released

        2:00 p.m. Livestock to be released. By 4:00 p.m., all exhibitors must clean their stalls and carry bedding and manure outside the barn.
