At this time neither the City of Guthrie Center nor Guthrie Center Municipal Utilities are accepting applications.

Seasonal Employment:  When applications are being accepted feel free to print out the aquatic center job application form (word format) or a seasonal  job application form  (pdf format). Applications can be mailed to 102 N. 1st Street, Guthrie Center, IA 50115. 

If you would like to be a lifeguard you must complete Red Cross Lifesaving classes prior to beginning employment.  Classes can be taken through the City of Guthrie Center - please contact Laura at 332-2191.  Classes are also offered at the Carroll Recreational Center in Carroll, Iowa (712) 792-5400, at the McCreary Community Building in Perry, Iowa (515) 465-5621, and at the Atlantic YMCA (712) 243-3934 during the school year. 

2012 Note:  Lifeguard applicants must be able to demonstrate competency as a lifeguard.  Applicants will be required to show ability to complete successful saves and successfully backboard a victim prior to being hired.
